so, to settle this for the 97-99 legacy gt..

if i want to buy godspeed coilovers for 600 from ebay..
they will fit the front but not the rear?
and the ONLY thing i will need is top hats from a 93-01 impreza
and then it WILL work with NO problems and thats it?

Apologize in advance if this question was already answered i couldnt find a solid answer for my question. Im curious if raceland coilovers for a GD will fit on my BE. I know the rear is completely different but ive been told swapped with wrx tophats they should mount up. I dont mind If i have to tweak em for the price of em but if its a dead end please let me know

The fronts will fit. The rears will not.

BE/BH fit.

The rear struts from the multilink rear end are much shorter then the larger GC/GD versions..

A few members are running BL/BP coilovers all around.. Check the forums.

Sorry but all this bh bd gc wrx sti sob swap got me on the way to the psyco ward, i have a 2000 legacy wagon gt and all i want is to find a nice complete set of bolt in suspension, dont wanna swap anything, somthing from tein or bilstein or anything that will give me a good ride and good handling, anyone could tell me what i need and the part numbers to ask for, its a jdm, and i live in the Cayman Islands so i have to get it right the first time ordering, if not its gonna cost me a bundle to reship in order to get the right parts, so someone please help.

I don't have part #s but anything from 2000-2004 Legacy wagon (BH, that's yours) will work, and the 2005-2009 (BL) can bolt up as well. JDM years are different, but if it's listed for a 3rd or 4th gen, you can use it.

There are JDM Bilstein suspensions on sale on eBay quite often.

Fronts will work from other models, however rears will not work from any model besides 3rd (BE, BH) or 4th gen (BL, BP) legacy's. Personally I have only heard people say that 4th gen rears work and I have never seen any proof.

Yes BL/BP fronts will work, however the strut top hats needs to be changed because where the strut bolts to the body is a little different on the 2.

not too bad, but you need a spring compressor. I think you can rent the cheap ones at an autozone/oreilly's. Just compress the spring, remove the retaining nut (Impact will make this much easier), exchange parts, and put back together. Its kinda hard to explain more detailed than that unless you are looking at it and/or know the terminology.

Im not looking to swap anything, i wanna just buy a new complete set but dont no what to look for, the car is just street, so what i want is a super comfy ride with out having to pay thousands of dollars, im looking for a set for the front and back complete, struts, springs and everything that it needs, preferable tein or bilstein, but what do you guys suggest in other brands.

I have 04 sti megan track series coilovers on my 98 gt wagon, you can go with bc coilovers they a optional rear camber plates for an extra $125 or $150. My rears bolted right up but I had to modify the fronts a little. Redrilled the front so the camber plates would be horizontal for camber adjustment and wielded the old holes up. But if you don't want to drill your front sthen I would go with bc coilovers for our cars, depends how you budget is.

There's no way around it unless you get the bc coilovers, or you can mix it up 92-01 fronts, with 02-07 rears. Just throwing that out there, but I wouldn't recommend doing it. If you don't want to mod anything go for the bc's for our wagons, best bang for your buck.

2002-2007 RS / WRX
2004 WRX STi

The only modification you will have to do is ROTATE the front top hats (mounts) 180 degrees
---> Front top hats have bearing in them that allow the strut to pivot when steering.
---> Just twist and bolt up.

So if I'm gathering correctly the stock suspension setup from 02 wrx sedans front and rear will fit up on correctly on bd sedans? The tophats and spring lands from the bd would have to be swapped out for the wrx?

WRX strut/springs are direct bolt on just rotate the front top hats 180.

Thanks chuck...got a lil confused, same goes for coilovers or springs listed as sold for wrx? Believe me I'm not usually this dense, its Friday all I can think of is getting wasted for the apocalypse.

Coilovers are the same however if you choose units with camber plates they will not be at dead centre.. They will be off so adjustments are pointless. The GC top hats work or anything branded BD/BK/BG.

Springs are specific to the strut you use. you can interchange but depending on style and top.
