    Fuel Pumps (STi and Walbro)

I normally don't ask questions, but this has really got me. Anyway, I am preparing for my secret project by upgrading my fuel system, beginning with the fuel pump.

So, I snagged an 06 STi fuel pump for cheap, and went to install it today. Guess what? Its not even remotely the same. Stock pump has two eyelet connectors for power, STi has a two prong plug. Plus its way smaller and doesn't have the right length for the hose.

So does anyone have any experience with upgrading fuel pumps? What other types are out there that will fit our cars? Is there a way I can get the STi pump to work?

As for a Walbro pump, I know a few people have installed these, but where do you get the harness to attach the eyelet connectors to the pump?

PS. getting the pump assembly was a straight PITA. Dropped screwdriver into fuel tank, fished it out with a clothes hanger, fuel system wouldn't depressurize fully, entire neighborhood smells like gas.

    Gas everywhere.

I have sourced the correct harness from the same 06 STi and will report my results if I can get it installed and working.

Yeah, I just acquired the harness that connects the STi fuel pump to the plug on the fuel tank cover. So I should be able to install my pump.

255 Walbro and call it a day. They are a little noisier than stock.
