    Computer OS

As a Nerd, I must ask.
What computer OS are you guys using?

Im running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7. I used to be a windows guy with XP but I was a Vista beta tester and I didnt like it one bit. I must admit vista has come a good ways since beta but its no XP. With the vista release I switched to Mac. I bought a black Macbook in 2007. I love the ease of use from a mac. everything is included when you buy them in terms of software. XP and vista system usually had lots of boatware that most would never use.

    Re: Computer OS

I was a Gentoo guy but upgrading/compiling got old and so I tried Ubuntu and never looked back. I still use Windows under a VM on occasion to support Office functions and some websites for work that require IE.

I still use XP for Video editing though. Not very often, but until Pinnacle Studio ports to Linux.......

If all you do is browse the web and check email, give Ubuntu a try. Openoffice is great for kids doing homework, etc.

And it works great on older hardware. I would be a Mac guy if the price of admission was not so high....... and now that Ubuntu fills 95% of my needs I am no longer inclined to go that route.

    Re: Computer OS

for some reason i not a fan of mac OS's sure it UNIX based but i dont like the interface and the ways things are setup. i like my classic gnome interface. maybe it because we had old imac's that always crashed on boot or if you typed to fast, or double clicked

    Re: Computer OS

Vista Ultimate 32bit. I was running 2GB, then upped to 4GB. Sadly, the process to go from 32bit to 64bit is ridiculous because of a programming glitch, so I'll just wait until this fall. Hoping to upgrade to a performance laptop and Win7.

Still on XPSP2 here at work.

I don't really care what OS I'm using as long as I can get my work done.

09 Subaru Tribeca -- slow and ....um fat, definitely fat.
