    Remove spoiler on 2002 GT?

Is it possible to remove the spoiler on my 2000 Legacy GT. The spoiler prevents me from using a trunk mounted bike rack.

    Thanks for any help!!

Sure you can, but you will have holes (4 I think) in the trunk lid from the bolts.

Are there caps or something that can temporarily seal these holes?

    Thanks !

I wouldn't because I want to replace it when I am done with bike hauling. I am going to call my local dealer and see what they can tell me. Also it's red, (though you might've been willing to repaint it.)

It turns out that adding a trailer hitch is the only way to go. There's no practical way to take the spoiler on and off, unless you can devise an OK looking method for sealing the bolt holes in the trunk door.

A bolt on hitch is only indicated for wagons, but my dealer says that the local welder, which also installs bolt-on hitches, puts them on sedans all the time. That is the route I am going to go..
