I was looking into buying a set of H&R lowering springs for my BH5. Would I be able to buy them and install them with my stock struts? It's alittle bit cheaper than coilover at the moment. What are some opinions on them? Good or bad?

H&Rs are great! They do take a wk or so to settle in, but the lower pretty nicely and do not give off a slammed look. Are you looking to also replace the stock struts? How old are they? With a new spring on there with a much more older strut, you may lead the older struts to blow out quicker since there not going to be able to retain the same retention rate as the original springs.
I was looking to go low but not slammed like you said before. My stock struts are in good condition, my legacy is an 01 and the car has 44,000 miles on the car. I think it would be possible to put the new springs on my struts, I just would not want to harm anything while doing this mod. When you say "settle" what do you mean by that? Thanks.
They'll take a few days to drop down to their final ride height. So you'll sit a little bit higher that the springs are advertised for until then, also it may sit slightly uneven until then as well.
So you guys are saying that I can use my stock struts with the new springs? It's probably a good idea to get a wheel alignment after they settle in as well.
Yeah, stock struts will be ok, not optimal. They will wear out faster than they would under normal circumstances though. They aren't designed for the lower ride and stiffer spring rates.
Definatley get an alignment, any time you do work on suspension components it messes with the geometry.
I'd suggest using a paint marker on the top camber bolts on the front so you can get them reinstalled in the same orientation. Won't be perfect but it will be driveable untill you can get a professional alignment done.

All my parts are Legacy parts, no conversions here... I use KYB's GR2's. AGX's are crap. You could get Tokico 5 ways.
When I had H&R Springs on mine, the car handled very well but they seemed a little too bumpy for long commutes.

For CA roads, when your going 70 - 75, they handle quite well. Just when going over slats or bumps they have a tendency to jump a bit.Originally Posted by Jacobpockros

So I got my H&R's and new struts on along with my Enkei Lusso rims. The setup looks great. What is the best way to get pictures onto the forum?
Photobucket or something like it...
