The 4300k's are the headlights, you need like a 2500k for yellow fogs I think.

I've been away for a while because of a job change and school getting even harder. Only a few months to go now!
Anyway, I haven't been doing much with my car other than driving, though recently it got a new set of Nitto NeoGens, a new Optima Yellow Top, and a Rockford Punch 400 4-channel amp for the door speakers. I also very recently put the 240,000th mile on this car. The car also has a header back custom welded exhaust now, and sounds pretty good. No UEL because I like having conversations in my car. Best of all, the exhaust looks stock. I will get more pictures and a sound clip of the exhaust soon, I promise.
This is what my 240,000 mile engine now looks like
I love my car, it's a slow turd that won't get out of its own way, but it is very comfortable, handles well, and sounds nice...and that's the problem. While I love my car, I've had to for quite some time now, and I'm thinking about buying another car and eventually selling this one. A friend of mine backed my car into a moving truck and damaged the driver's side quarter panel, then I hit it on my Z-turn mower and dented both driver side doors. I'll fix just about anything mechanically, but body work is something I look at and say no to. On top of that, I'm just plain old tired of not having cruise control and power windows. Yes, I know I can wire those things in, but between the body damage, high mileage, and the "luxury" items I want, I think it's time.
That said, I have been thinking about a 3rd gen GT sedan, or possibly an 05-09 LGT sedan. Whichever one I get, I have to have leather seats, cruise, power windows, and a manual transmission. It has to be less than 10k, because that's all the cash I have to spend on a car right now. So if you know anyone trying to sell, I'm in the market.

Dude, that is far too nice of a car to just dump. I have all the crap you need for power windows, locks, mirrors and cruise control. My Legacy has hands down been the best car I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few cars. Hell, I liked it so much I bought 2 more. Trust me, if you get rid of your car, you will end up regretting it later. I was looking at getting a later model Legacy GT turbo wagon, and for what I have spent in the last 6 months on parts for my engine build, I probabally could have come really close to getting one, but in the end, I just truly love my car. Thats why my 62 Nova is sitting under cover in the back yard. I rather put the money and time into the car that gets me everywhere. lol.

Sapphie, 1962 Nova: Going to be my Daughters sweet ride.
I had Neogens on my wagon. They are great tires. A little sketchy in the snow however.

How so? They can't possibly be worse than the bald summer-only tires I had on last winter...right?Originally Posted by 98legwag
We normally have pretty mild winters around here, though last winter was an exception. I have several extra sets of wheels lying around that I can get some snow tires to throw on if it gets too crazy.
I appreciate the compliment on my car, and on the one hand I know you're right. The thing is though, with 240,000 miles and fading components, I'm faced with pouring money into the clutch, suspension, and brakes to still have a half-wrecked (body wise) car. That, vs. getting another Legacy a few years newer is no contest in my mind.Originally Posted by meepers
I know we can never think about our cars insurance value once we start modding, but there's very high potential for me to drop between $1000 and $3000 into this wagon only to get steamrolled by some redneck in his truck that my car can fit under. Yes, I understand that that could happen to a newer car that I get as well, but at least the payout wouldn't be ~$1000 and a "totaled" car that has just enough damage to not be worth fixing.
I realize I'm going straight to the worst case scenario here, but it's really not all that crazy of a thought, is it?

I had them on the car 2 winters ago for a pretty mild winter. They aren't horrible, but not great either in the snow. I would say average. Its when you want to have fun you end up having FUN. I noticed it the most when I would gas it around a corner.Originally Posted by Boxer Wagon

Mark, keep the wagon and get a newer Lego.
As of right now that's the plan. I'll keep driving the wagon until I get the new one lowered on nice wheels and get all the bugs/maintainence worked out.
Maybe when the time comes I'll use my wagon for a vehicle extrication class.

Dude, if that's what you're gonna do to it, I would trade you straight up for mine. I have way more rust, and it would be less of a shame.
I wouldn't actually cut it up. If I did though, I'd totally swap cars with you!

I can't recall or find in this thread, do you have an auto or manual?
Marks car is a manual, and don't let him fool you, it's pretty freaking clean.
Thanks Eric. Really though, it's pretty beat up. The lack of rust is nice, the rest leaves something to be desired.
He's correct, my car is a 5-speed manual
