1991 Subaru Legacy 2.2 L automatic non-turbo. Check engine light came on, car was running rough. Code indicated inj #2, replaced injector did not change anything. (checked ohms on all 4 injectors and they were fine) After more checking came to the realization I was not getting a pulse to inj #2, (Inj #1,3,4 okay). Checked continuity on inj #2 wire back to computer, continuity good. Checked computer and had pulse from inj #1,3,4 but not inj #2. Changed computer and had pulse to all 4 injectors and car ran great for 2 weeks, then check engine light came on again, ran rough and codes indicated inj #2. Checked and had no pulse to inj #2 (inj #1,3,4 okay).
What could be causing computer to stop pulsing on inj #2 only? Could inj #2 be drawing too much current and overloading computer on individual wire? Or could this be a grounding issue? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
