Awile back when I was breaking another rear diff in my BK, it was stripping the spider gears of one side so it was intermittently sending all the power through one axle. (This car is RWD, non LSD rear at the time)
When in would do this the car would want to change direction pretty badly. Enough so that it was crab walking down the road. I thought at first something in the rear suspension had broken or come loose.
Apon my inspection I didn't find anything wrong with the suspension. (I didn't realize that the diff was blowing up yet) lol.
But I did notice how much compliance there was in the forward trailing arm bushings.
Started looking around at trailing arm options....$200 someodd dollars for arms...nope....$60 someodd dollars for bushings...a little more reasonable.
But then I found a few of these floating around the shop.
Free race car parts....for my $800 race car? Yes!
So a little chopping and welding and searching through the metal bin later I had these
Fit in some spacers.
Should be a solid enough set up.
Then I took it for a test drive....wow! I couldn't belive the difference it made. I use to get the serious herky jerkys taking off and shifting gears. Now it's smooth and direct. I thought for awile it was just in the rear diff carrier bushings, that I also plan on stiffening up but honestly I can't feel any play in the drivetrain now after doing these arms.
I highly recommend this improvement to anyone with this style suspension, wether it's an upgraded arm or bushing replacement. I'm got to be a big difference on even AWD cars but an absolute must if your running rear wheel drive.
