New springs?

Getting ready to replace all 4 struts soon. Should I look at replacing springs as well? The car is a 96 Legacy L wagon with 180k. I already have the new KYB direct replacement struts and mounts. Are there any stiffer springs that will work with the stock top mounts and a minimal to no drop? Its my DD so I am looking at comfort also. I've searched and found H&R sport springs on a few sites in a good price range, But they all say excludes wagon? Is this where the saggy butt thing comes in? I've over researched a this point.

I cant think of any spring that will meet all your requirements.
Stock WRX springs are the only ones that will come close.
Your asking for springs that do a lot of things.
Its kinda like saying "I want a street legal racing slick that's good in the snow and lasts 80,000 miles"
You can either get a tire that is great at 1 of those things and terrible at the others or a tire thats almost acceptable at all of them..

Are WRX springs a little stiffer than the stock legacy? Do they fit with the Legacy struts and mounts? I found through my searching that 2002-2003 springs fit with no changes. I don't track or anything besides a little spirited driving on back roads once in awhile.

Yes they work and are slightly stiffer. Somewhere (on legacy central I think) there's a thread that has all the spring rate for stock and aftermarket. If I recall the legacy has like 140 and the WRX has like 165 springs. I ran them for a while. Now I'm running tein S-techs for a WRX.

The WRX springs will give a slight drop also? Would the saggy butt spacers be needed with WRX springs?

The stock WRX springs won't drop much. At least I didn't notice any. I'm not sure. The aftermarket springs Dont seem to sag much since the springs are so stiff. Rallysportdirect.com posts the spring rates. Mine are like 250 I think and I Dont think I could live with anything stiffer. (Keep your mind out of the gutter) its all about what you like. I like the feel of being planted to the road, i like suspension that communicates whats going on. and i am willing to live with a ride that sucks on a shitty road. But if you like something that's comfortable, that's going to isolate you from the bumps and be not as sporty than u want WRX springs. IMHO. Its all about what you like.

I've decided on the Eibachs, should I be worried that it shows sedan only?

I wouldn't be concerned. Like I said the springs are stiff enough that they probably won't sag. If they do it will be so small you won't notice. I think you will be fine. But just remember the WRX springs will lower your car, about 1/2 an inch, and what ever drop spring you get will be additional to that. I.e if you get a 1.5 inch drop you are probably looking at 2 inch. Just telling you my personal experience.

If you're worried about sag, you can always get some spacers for the rear (they mount above your strut tops) that will make the rear suspension slightly longer.
