    ej252 denso ecu tune

hey guys, so im gathering parts for my N/A build and have noticed that i wont be able to swap my ECU with the stage 2 ecu i will be getting.
now before i start dismantling my car to make the ej252 run happy on the 251 ecu i wanted to know if there was any other way to go about this. is there a way to tune the oddball denso ecu?
i know i could just toss cams and an exhaust on an call it a day but id rather not spend the money and still have a stock tune.
before i get flamed id like to say this car will never see a turbo swap! mostly because im broke and the cams, exhaust, and ecu me 400 bucks.

I haven't seen a tune option for the 252 ECU, but it would be worth contacting delicious tuning to double check.

If there's nothing available, it's probably pretty cheap to swap the 251 intake manifold on and run the other ECU.

Why do you think it's more than the intake? What parts do you know are different, here's what I've found out with a bit of research I did in the past.
From researching part numbers here is what I have concluded as some of the differences/similarities:
Block halves: different, but listed as an interchange for either, so it is likely just marking differences
    Cylinder heads/cams: Same
    Pistons: Same
    Connecting Rods Same
    Crankshaft: Same
    ECU: Different
    Intake Manifold: Different
Throttle Body : Different (this is likely just because of the different style IACVs I show below)
    Cam Pulleys: Same
    Injectors: Different

So, it seems if you get a complete manifold with all the parts on it then you should be pretty set. You might have to change out a few connectors though, but luckily finding an EJ251 harness to steal the connectors off of is a lot easier than an EJ252. You could probably get all the parts in one trip to a u-pull junkyard. Just pull the manifold and cut off the pig tails for all the connections. I'm not positive if the ECU uses the same connectors, might need to look into that. I've got both an EJ251 and EJ252 car, might need to peek at the 252 ECU for a comparison. Ok, actually I just went to eBay and found a pic of an EJ252 ECU and compared it to the EJ251 ECU I've got in my hands, looks like the same connectors to me.

Here's what the Delicious Tuning site says about the ECUs:

    - Basically if it states Unisia Jec or Denso (not Hitachi) on it and was made after 1998, it can probably can be reflashed currently (exception 03/04 RS).
    - But of course testing needs to be completed on it. Some other examples of this are the Forester and Legacy models also which can also be tuned.
    - Pricing is going to be around $300-$350 for new tunes
    - Pricing for upgrades including previous I-Speed/Crawford reflashes will be around$150-$200
