    STU Classifications

With the brake upgrade and such, The Baja-Turbo is no longer fit for Autocross duty in stock class.

So, my target is STU. Is there anything I should watch out for? I don't want to get forced into SM...

Is the 245 width tire restriction for all AWD vehicles still in effect for 2008. (I only have the 2007 Rulebook). Is the 7.5" Wheel/Rim width restriction still in effect? Would an exhaust bypass throw me out of STU?

what group puts on the autocross events you attend? You're up near Troy right? I'd like to take the wagon for a spin in an autocross. I haven't autocrossed in years.

It's the Mohawk-Hudson Valley SCCA chapter. They have recently switched to running in a large parking lot in Albany/Bethlehem. Sometimes the events are as far north as Adirondack Community college. Come on up.

Thanks for the help! That looks correct--i checked in the scca 2008 rulebook.

However, due to the addition of a new hood in the spring, I will be bumped to Street Mod. Whereupon, I will be spanked.

Yeah, the only thing you have to watch out for is the new catalytic converter rules in STU/STX.

I think you can't run an "aftermarket cat" now or something to that effect. A few guys had to ditch their catted DP's because of it (I scored a Helix catted DP for $120 from an autox friend of mine because of it )
