    Apparently Subaru is not FTW

Top gear, Evo 10 vs. STi

But, if you want the truth, then watch the stig driving the cars and remember sliding =/= speed.

ok, ok...on the actual track test they used the standard 300hp Evo....AND THE SUBIE TAKES IT!!!!!

I have to admit, watching STi in corners...That thing is gross looking

Yeah... but the evo competes with the WRX, and the STi should compete with the 360 horsepower evo, as that is mitsubishi's top model. So the mitsu still would've won.

I don't get that logic at all...we're talking 20% more hp. Just cuz they are the tops don't mean the compete..hahahh

With the current exchange rate, 7k British Pounds is a bit less than 14 thousand US dollars.

The STi is $14,000 LESS than the 'standard' Evo. The Evolution X FQ360 is even more than that. The FQ should be tested against a special model STi, but none exists yet for the new body. And a WRX is cheaper still, so it wouldn't make sense to compare the base model evo to the WRX.

So the STi beat a car that costs 14 grand more (barely beat). The FQ360 would be faster, but they didn't test it, and they didn't mention the price(at least a few grand more).

I don't see how the WRX and EVO X are rivals. The WRX has less power, so it's not even...even lol. I could see the WRX goin against the new Lancer Ralliart, but I don't think thats AWD is it?

The new Lancer Ralliart will be an AWD hatchback, with the detuned 4b11 from the evo. The new WRX will have 265bhp and better tires than the Rex's of yore. It'll be a tough fight.

    Japanese rally-heritage. That's all.

Shoot if [insert jap manufacturer] was still in the game you'd see a 3-way shootout.

Evo's always housed on the STi, the only ones that have been regarded as 'better' on topgear and 5th gear were the 22B, STi type R, and the Boner-Inducing Litchfield type 25.

They're not compared because of their power or price. They are compared because of their target market. If you compare things by price and power then we should have a STi vs F150 comparo.

Top Gear just doesn't care about some things when they are doing their comparo (and if you are buying a 50 grand suped up econobox, you probably don't care too much about price anyway)

Just read a Road&Track article, the Ralliart was a sedan?...SO I guess it'll be availible as both.

Previous Lancer Ralliarts were regular lancers with evo suspension bits and some Kit. The new Lancer Ralliart is a Lancer GTS with an evo engine and drivetrain, but regular lancer suspension.

No. Colin McRae never built a Subaru. He raced them.

Ralliart = STI - the tuning race development divisions.

After reading all the posts, I've decided that I should be given a brand new Legacy, STi, and Evo. 'Nuff said.
