She is running, youuu dont know how happy i amm, so here is the story, on xmas eve, i went around being nice to friends and giving out gifts and randomly attending a xmas eve subaru meet (btw im doing all of this in my outback) My friends got me an RS Control arm and front whiteline bushings! I was like awesome! Buttt I had already got my bushings and my jdms in the mail so now on xmas i sets of two haha.

Ended up selling a set of control arms and bushings; axles came in and now im ready to install everything. Rain held me back from installing it untill yesterday and tonight where I finished and celebrated at a carwash at 11:30 at night to give my baby a wash, soo happy she back!

Oh and other news, I will be getting my hands on a ej251S engine drivetrain with RA gears, and a limited slip diff all for 300 bucks :) right now seeing all of what i can do with this stuff :)

The paint booth was actually for the Porsche, sold the RUF kit and bought a GT3 kit for it unpainted so hence the operation room.

yeah the duplicolor comes out really nice and im happy about the turn out i just need to install the parts lol. Thanks hopefully in the next comming weeks my car will be back to road worthy, its moves and i can drive it from point inner city, but i still have my tie rods and ball joints to do!

I cleaned up the other post and to give you a sober none tired version of what happened, I grabbed some HKS coilovers from a friend of mine and since my anti lift kit came in the mail i decided to install that as well. Cant give you impressions on how and what it drives since all i did was back it out of the driveway busted a U then reparked it so that it can sit.

lip is off the car for now, and I repainted the side of my front bumper as it was all banged up from the accident.
Still in search of a driver's side fender
Coils are sitting nice and pretty
Back on stock wheels till i can confirm they are not bent

If I get those I wanna paint the spokes white and make a flat bronze lip(well im just playing around with colors who knows. Ill be playing around with some color choices as im not a fan of the black with chrome lip.

Yeah today is day 1 of starting research on this cluster. Im going to look at making it plug and play mini harness so for any reason i wanna go back to the stock one i will be able with just taking out my mini plug and play harness. But who knows at the moment. here is a pic of it

I now have an 07 wrx sti premium stereo, made my Clarion. it has a 6 disc cd/mp3/wma disc changer, and satalie radio along with the Audio auxiliary port of ipods or other mp3 devices. Sounds great and love it to death just makes the car feel more up to date not only in sound quality but in looks wise. For all of you that hate the wood grain accents I love them and I'm working on a plan to make it look really nice!

I also picked up an STi key at my local stealership for actually cheaper than the ones on ebay! Got it for 16 bucks and then took it over the the toyota dealership across the street(subaru on didnt have the key cutting machine) and got the key cut for free!

Yeah the stereo is a 6 disc mp3/wma/regular cd player! so it will play your regular cds then it will play mp3 and wma cds as well and for the mp3/wma cds it will show the name and artist on the screen, only think you loose if your clock :/

Thanks dude, new route is that im going to go jdm tails for last of the exterior or i might paint my amber piece red to save money. The bumper and fogs are all cleaned up and touch up has been done. Oh and I have a woodgrain steering wheel from an outback mated with the wrx airbag. Im going to have a garage sell of parts i need to get rid off. Thanks guys, as for now she is going into hibernation for a couple of months, the transmission went out on me and now she sits in the car port, but not alone, she has her good friend the outback too keep her company. So you guys wont see an update from me for a good whille, ill be using my members ride thread as a place to store all of what the future holds for my car.

And yup open ecu wont let me do crap but mainly view stuff, from what I red the cams and valves wont really need tuning and are a drop right in and go. Looks like we would have to use a piggyback system like pp6 or somthing.(im trying my best to keep the cost down lol)

i would also look at a greddy emange blue, or the greddy emanage ultimate i think the name is. I've see a lot of people use them with pretty good success and they're decently priced. I dont think rallitek is selling the PP6 anymore, but there are a few floating around forsale. Your other option would be a Linkplus ecu unit which is expensive new, but is apparently amazing..lol

To give an update to this its been a crazy 6-7 months without my baby! She is up at the shop FW Motorsports in Rocklin getting a partly rebuilt engine, tranny, along with all new bushings for the rear end.

It's been a chase to find the correct parts for me and it is what has been keeping me from taking this out and enjoying it. Long story short, they pulled tranny out of my car, it was no good for a rebuild (straight up metal chunks comming form the atf pan), the transmission that I bought from the donor car was a phase 2 tranny fail number two. After doing extensive reseach on transmissions I now knew what I needed and called a shop which had a man with a hard to understand accent and he couldnt understand me as well(I dont have an accent but yeah) give him the vin of what I need he says he has it and will give it to me for cheap, the day i go and pick it up its the wrong transmission. Luckly FW gave me a pick and pull to try out and they had what I was looking for with a warrenty!! So now I brought the tranny to them and they said 2 weeks it should be buttoned up and ready. I can't wait!!!

Thanks guys I'm going to be more active, I finished school and my carrer is somewhat taking off so I have more time for things I enjoy doing such as my car and being on the forums.

All together I got the tranny and rear diff for 1100 shipped to me from utah (i think) basicly the transmission has been checked, and has known millage and condition of the car it was taken out of. I get a 6month/6k mile warrenty on the tranny as well. I thought it was more than a fair price with all the work that they go through for it and the condition of it looked better than the one I had bought in the first place!!

yeah its a V limited lip off a sti that I painted white, it was ok needed alot cutting to get it to look right and overall adjustment for the bottom lip. I ended up with a different direction. Still got the lip if you want it you can have dibs on it.

So the engine mods aren't much as I decided that I'm going to try and save money by not throwing it all into this car, end of the year I want enough for my own fancy smany apartment. Right now I'm not too worried about going fast but more on reliabilty and resale value (not thinking of selling it just yet)

so here is the rundown what all has been added to the car engine and suspension wise:

Yesterday and this morning I took care of making her legal in the great(meh) State of California. Smogged, Registered and new plates now she can roam free with out worry. I am still working on the chargespeed grill, reworking the bondo'd part making it flow better. Its a crapload of sanding and getting it to look right and new. My friend and I also fixed my trany return lines as I had a leak and was leaking atf fluid all over everywhere like it was that time of the month lol.

Today is raining but hopefully I can get under the car with a break in the clouds after work and check out my passengerside (think I have a torn boot.)

More work on the car tuesday night, replaced my old worn inner tie rods with new ones, they had play and were way too worn with torn boots. The new ones now lets the steering wheel not shake at high speeds. The minor repair bug bit the shit out of me lol

they are actually pretty relaxing minus the hint of they are still coilovers(more road sensitive) I would say these are good if you want to be low with comfort and handling, but if you are doing autocross and track days like crazy you would want something else that you are able to tune the settings and dial it into your needs.

Basically I down to take an LA trip in this coilovers and not complain.

LETS BREAK EVERYTHINGG!!! it's the name of the game this week. Someone left a slew of bricks out on the freeway at night and i dodged all of them except one which took out the SAME DAMN SIDE I REPLACED EVERYTHING!! so bent JDM GC control arm, bent front perrin endlink, and bent GTSpec anti lift kit. Luckly stock parts for the win and im back to stock in the front.

So new setup will consist of

another set of JDM GC Aluminum control arms, Whiteline anti lift kit, Whiteline roll center kit, Whiteline KLC30 Front endlinks.

then I will be able to get my new tires for the stockers and an alignment to be said and done with it

Other than that craziness

UEL headers are on the way! Plus I have an STI catback exhuast that will go on soon! I plan to get the headers on test out the sound with the current exhaust then if I like it or not I will trade over.

I ended up taking my WRX/H6 brakes off as they weren't stopping for me rotors and pads were dead so untill I get some extra change I might go 4pots or just new brakes.

I put on my enkei's for the last time for shits and giggles they look nice but it's time for a new look, plus i had the rim checked out at a shop and they said it was beyone repair so that sucks but here are some pictures. She's filthy dirty in these pictures and the jdm areo spat is in the trunk till i put it back on for that side lol.

I also found out that my tranny is leaking onto my exhaust, ughh more money about to flow down the drain but before that I ordered a new whiteline roll center kit, endlinks and bushings. Decided to keep my stock lower bushing and control arm for now as they work. I installed a 3rd brake light as I went spoilerless and needed one. the headers came in! now i wait for the header wrap and they should be on!

New goodies on their way in the mail as we speak. Such as the whiteline anti lift kit and jdm tails! I on the verge of picking up some XXR 521 18x8.5 +35 offset as right now i need some new tires bad and new rims are always a good thing.

Lately I installed a 3rd brakelight after going wingless and loosing my 3rd brake light because of it. It's meant for a wrx but with very little modifcation it fit and wired up without a problem. I will be making a diy for it tomorrow! I also got My Technica Tech Stainless Steel lines in the mail Thanks Reason for the group by they look good and can't wait to throw these on the car! I will be updating my parts list as well check it.

Here a link for referance in terms of potential sound. I was going to go with that exhaust set up till I heard this and did a bit more research. Thats a 2.5i in the video so NA block. Turbo exhaust Plus NA motor not always a good thing but completely based on opinion i guess.

Thanks guys for the input I am keeping my exhaust for now and it looks like I am selling my sti catback! I finished 90 percent of the damn upgrade as I kept running into problems and just struggled lol. Well after 2 weeks all of it is on except the sway bar bushings and holly hell the car is a different girl. Just cornering is super accurate the suspension has an oem feel with aftermarket performance. The headers make the car actually sound like a subaru and now ppl notice it that it is haha. I also feel like i gained a bit in the low end torque via the butt dyno which is great. The JDM tails change the look of the rear soo much I love looking at it! The new radio is a christmas miracle in summer! I am soo happy with it haha. Im in love with the car all over again here are pictures i forgot to upload.

took the legacy on its first road trip since the new engine and tranny has been put in. I must say she has proven herself more than reliable for trips!! 400mi trip and barely she barely consumed any oil!

I found out my power steering is taking a turn for the worse and looks like I will be on the search for one sooner than later. My exhaust leak should be taken care of by end of next week and I installed my DDM 35watt 5k into the projectors soo much better!! and for the piece of resistance!!!! EVO9 Recaros in damn near new condition!! Can't get enough of the seats!! Anyways in the mail are the brakes, and the Planted Technologies seat brackets for the seats.

This was a project all in its self, finally got my compass guage pack from an rs in today with everything working.

i installed it in the cubby where my ac goes and relocated that to the bottom of my double din in the place of my ashtray and cig lighter. It displays alot of stuff other than direction such as temp, baromeeter, altitude and sea level

Actually that was pretty much the easy part, the cable is long enough, but with some more proper rerouting it can be pulled out further which is on my todo list. Also the wires are easy they do trick you as they seem short but once its in place there is plenty enough room. The hard part was cutting and making sure it doesn't look like crap. Wiring was 99% easy. Everything is plug and play except for one wires that needs to be tapped into the vvs. Other than that wiring is quick and easy!

Past weekend I installed a couple of things, the brakes came in centric rotors, stoptech pads, and motul fluid, and finally got to put on my jdm 4pot and put back on my h6 rears.

Other than that I picked up a strut bar from a friend he told my the brand but of course i forgot and a rear roof visor. The next day I was in the Bay Area Subaru Meet car show, didn't win but there were some nice legacys there. Here are pictures from everything. PS Thanks reason as I bought my brakes through him!!!

Well here is a update, the Her first 500+ road trip from the Bay to LA and back. 3days and 1,000+ miles were thrown on her. Went down to Pomona,Ca for Subiefest 2012 it was awesome also met some friends down there who have a couple of 2nd gens as well as some new faces. While i was down there took a couple of shots Im headed back down there soon as I need more pictures of iconic socal living with the subie as the subject. Also new to the car are Blox extended lug nuts in gold (the extended lugs aren't in yet really just threw the lug nuts on for the car show).

Already in my possession i picked up a Infinity Kappa Four amp as well as a set of Infinity Kappa 62.9i component speakers and a infinity M3S 12' sub. Ordered are Kartboy endlinks and a paranoid fab grounding kit. Today I am going to see about ordering a amp kit so i can get this system installed!

Its from an RS i bought it off of ebay for under 40 bucks it is not a perfect fit, far from it, i bought similar black plastic in the same thickness as it to fill in the gaps on the side im whipping up a diy for it.

Sadly no real mods added on the car but the car has been giving me problems (i think its the new gf but we'll act like i never typed that)

She now sits with a bad tranny and when I mean bad I mean badddd! This year alone she has been on a tow truck twice and sadly never got her up to the snow to do a photoshoot.

Right now Im at the point of selling her but because i love the car soo much and the community who has helped me Im trying my best to come up with a plan that has the Etta in the future. So Im looking for ethier a 05lgt sedan or wagon or just to go MURICA and buy a big ol tahoe or denali.

Near future plans are for a quick tranny replacement and long term it looks like the car is going to get a storage shed and a slow build on a 5spd and turbo motor. But thats what I can tell ya guys at the moment

Lastly I recovered my old hard drives with photos of diys I need to write up and post about.. They are from 3rd brake light installs, to recaro seats installs. I will get them done seen!

Well still on the hunt for a transmission, might have found one, but as well I have other problems such as needing a new moonroof for the outback (glass is shattered) and some maintaince for the wagon as well. (new shocks will be on the way for it. )

starting to sell my loose parts such as my old wrx seats, whiteline goodies, things that now I ask myself why'd i buy it, anything i can get out of my friends storage shed.

Lastly will have her back up and running soon for the summer, as I miss my boxer rumble and suspension. But I seen a 4th gen leggy in my future.

break down on me once sham on you electrical problem, break down on me twice, shame on me as Im now on my third transmission on this car. But the good news is that the new tranny is in and works so far. After going soo long without a car, I have saved a couple of pennies and know what I want finally.

I will be keeping the leggy for as long as I can whille looking for a 05-09 LGT in white with a 5spd. It might take me a good minute but Id be happy when I have it!

But that is for a future member ride thread when it is purchased as for now I have some minor repairs and some mods to for the leggy

-New Single din stereo to move the relocated AC unit up and gain back coin holder and usb charger (ashtray and cig lighter)

Ok so new game plan for the legacy. I been thinking and as much as the mod bug wants to bite me and say "hey you know that money you been saving lets spend it on the car!" yeah..no I got to slowly start making this car standard and slightly modded rather than all out crazy haha. I do it so I can save up and get my 05 hopefully aiming for a 08-09 lgt and live happy ever after falling into the mod bug infested pool when I get that. But here is the new thing.

Chargespeed lip will be the last visual mod to go on. then I will take alot of photos and will be happy.

Well the other day, I woke her up to go to work early in the morning, and halfway to work the engine started having a horible pinging, metal on metal sound to the point my temp guage was going up and my power was going down.

I threw a rod, coolant isnt flowing (rad hose was huge) and that where she sits

she is now on motor two and tranny three, im going to let her go and part her out for good. Sucks to say but hey it happens.

I am selling off the big ticket items locally such as seats, exhaust, and leaving the jdm goodness to you guys once i get some weekend time to unbolt everything off. I will make a list of what I am selling online.

But if anyone is nearby I will be giving a way my jdm limited front bumper

Part thread up took me awhile to post it for the feels kicked in. But its up more parts will be added to it over this week.

To give you a guys an explaination of why I am not rebuilding the motor again is for the fact that the car has alot of other things wrong with that would of cost more more than I want to spend. Other than the motor, the coilovers were shot, funny is that I had ordered and had sitting a new set of coilovers ready to put on her untill she broke down (then i returned them). The rear quarter window leaked and so did the moonroof (plus it didnt work). The car had previously been in an accident before me in which the damage was still visible just covered up, removal on the truck carpet you can tell the body has a good impact. Under the rear lateral links, one of the connectors was ripped but still holdning in place. plus the front of the frame was never in line.

Things that i could of spent time fixing one by one and pumping money into but there is a point when your project car is your daily and you can't go 3months without something else happening. I work a full time job and freelace as a videographer/audio engineer, both jobs take up alot of my time and energy in which give me little time to work on her. I also live in an apartment where I can't even detail my car let alone do my oil change there. I drive to a friends house 30 miles away to have a garage and a place to work. With the problems and my availibility i just isnt possible for me to work on her.

This car has given me great joy over the years, trips to Los Angeles, along infamous hwy 1, car meets, meeting new friends, got me through unemployment and 2 jobs, 2 ex's (haha) and a slew of knowledge that I cannot forget. I went from a guy not even knowing how to change his oil when he bought this to now I can do damn near do everything with a good set of extra hands and tools. I will leave you guys with this photo her last photo I took, that day she thew the rode when I was warming her up. My daytime light was out so I replaced it.

I will be around I wont stop posting here because i dont mind helping. I still have things I need to post that I will hopefully help other for thier future projects!
