nice Yankee plates hehe. I like it, esp. with the current wheels, but I've never been a fan of blacked out tails and especially headlights. Regular tails and headlights would look much nicer IMO. I almost got Varstoen wheels just like those in 17x9 but went with something else instead.

are the jdm fenders more flared than the usdm, or is it just my eyes?

Actually, it's the other way around. The US fenders are more flared. But Cervantes said he had his fenders rolled I believe. To fit his outrageous wheels/tires.

ya i saw the fenders rolled, I always thought that effected more of the inside but I guess it can flare them also. Looks good

I like the way the blacks out headlights give it a stealthier look. The rear is still stock, but the ones here are tinted stock.

It's a matter of personal opinion/taste. To me it reduces light output and it's a reason to be pulled over in the States. I love the look of crystal clear headlights, just speaking for myself anyhow.
I go to Japan every year, but I can't really recall what the stock tails on those cars look like cause I was never paying much attention to Subies other than noticing lots of nice ones. However, I can't wait to go next summer and hit Up Garage for some Subie parts instead of just random VIP parts.

My wife's B4 had pink headlights and was pulled over. I've never had an issue with black tint.

After my crappy radiator cracking on me, I went ahead and replaced it with something that didn't have any plastic parts in it. I got the Blitz 2 core radiator from yahoo auctions new.

Thanks! What can we say? We have good taste! It's a lot of time and effort to get your car the way you want. There's a lot of people that just throw stuff on their car w/out thinking about what they're doing...which is almost how I started.
I replaced the old deck and monitor with a double din. The screen was in the way of the A/C unit and it was driving me nuts.

I'm loving the new deck, highly recommend it.
I cleaned up the engine bay a little and got rid of the pink hoses. It really cleaned up the engine bay in my opinion. I went a little crazy and tried to change out the fuel likes with silicone hoses...bad, bad idea. One of them looked like a microwaved hot dog with the fuel pressure shooting through there. I had to go and pull some fuel lines off a junked B4 and go back to the stock hoses. You need some serious hoses for that to work.

I replaced the rear door speakers (for the second time) and the speakers on the rear deck with some Polk 6.5" speakers. I got these speakers because I already have a sub and just wanted a clean sound all around. I made a pretty funky discovery when I took off the rear deck. The ones in my car aren't speakers, they're tweeters. One of the tweeters (pax side on a RHD) had a cut out large enough for a 6x9, while the other is a small circle not big enough for a 6.5" speakers. I made it all work, but if I had to do it all over again, I would get one 6x9 and leave the driver side tweeter on the deck alone.

Ohhh no you're alright - I glanced at it and thought the ECV was getting replaced - it isn't
You're fine :D
Cervantes
08-20-2013, 07:32 AM
You scared me for a sec! I had the parallel manifold before, but I never installed it and sold it. I couldn't find enough feedback on them to put them on.
Mark in NZ
08-20-2013, 04:51 PM
I'm running parallel at present - loses some low down (ok, loses everything low down) but perks up in the middle. Loses the rumble completely - sounds non turbo until it comes on boost but comes on with a hell of a rush when it does wake up
Are you replacing primary with another VF26 (or is yours 31/32?)? I'm swapping mine to a 27 shortly - my 26 is a bit sad as well so taking the opportunity to convert to a BB centre, might help with spool up a little bit (hopefully!)
Cervantes
08-20-2013, 06:51 PM
I have the 25/27 turbos which need to be replaced. I can smell oil and I was told they have seen grey/white smoke from my exhaust.
How do you like the parallel setup compared to the sequential.
Mark in NZ
08-21-2013, 04:16 AM
Changes the character of the car markedly - it's the sort of thing I'd do for a track day, drag racing or a deliberate fast road run - just to eliminate the dead spot and getting caught at the wrong rpm mid corner etc when it switches back and forth.
My car gets used very infrequently so I'm happy living with it - wife got sick of it fast when she was using the wagon to commute in though haha. Gets about 10-12psi at 100kph in 5th but very laggy without much load on it in the lower gears.
I can link you to a quick how-to guide on the clubsub forum for how to lock it in - can be done in about 10 minutes and swapped back just as fast, no check engine lights or anything - just locking the ECV arm down and swapping a couple of vacuum lines over.

these are not the best pics, but this is what i have for now. they fender flares are done, now i need to adjust the suspension, and possibly put some spacers in the rear. the spacers will depend on what it looks like when i raise the rear and get rid of the camber.

I know they're just what came on the STi, but those white wheels look wrong on the Blitzen... Might look good in black, though. it's the color, not the style.

I know what you mean, but I'm not too worried about it. I just want to sell the Legacy and be done with it.

After a good run, the Legacy has been sold. I'm going to miss it, but it was time to move on. Hopefully the new owner will take good car of it. He was really excited so I'm sure he will.

Me too...my wife was really heart broken. She learned a lot helping me work on this car.

So the guy that bought the car got rear ended and the rear bumper is spent.

Ran into the guy that bought my car again at the PO....front bumper, grill and right side headlight are smashed. He said he ran into the store, came out and the car was hit. He claims hit and run, but who knows.
Oh, man, that really sucks. You have all of my sympathies.

So.. he was rear ended *AND* hit and run on the front? Sounds like someone was aiming for him....

I don't even know...he had a red Blitzen before and it was hit like 6 times he said.

See? I knew you shouldn't have sold it. You are much more careful with your cars.
OLr at least, you should have sold it to me. No, I don't know how I would've imported it... But that's my problem, not yours.

If I could have had my wife drive it, I would've kept it. My wife was pretty upset when I sold it.
It was for sale, it was open to anyone.

Hey all. I realize this is a bit of thread necromancy, but I had to post an update.

All better. The rear was also replaced/repaired.
Yaaaay! good to see it's being cared for!
