Every now and again I hear a sort of squeak like sound coming from what sounds like near the left wheel. The cars a 3rd gen Legacy B4 twin turbo. I understand there is a BOV in that area that has something to do with the TT setup which it could be but i'm not really sure. The sounds seems to happen completely randomly so i'm not so sure thats what it is. any other ideas?

Just be clear.. When you say "happens completely randomly" ... You can't pin point the exact moment aka rpm value or throttle on/off?

Seems to have no set point it happens at. Going along the motorway at constant speed and revs it happens every now and again. And its not a consistant event, it doesn't always happen when acceleration/decellerating, just sometimes

Can you get a video? I have a strange sound coming com the same area, but mine hits when I boost quickly and starts around .5 bar. It sounds like a high pitch screech.

i'll give that a go later on. i wouldn't say its a screech sound though, it kinda sounds like a really wimpy BOV sound, but i assume the stock BOV vents back into the system so you wouldn't really hear any sound. just read Reuben's post about how the TT system works and the secondary BOV is for venting the secondary turbo in the VOD so i highly doubt it is that.

Is there any power loss, stutter, or hesitation when it happens?

The secondary BOV is on the driver's side, the main BOV is bolted to the intercooler itself - I doubt either of these is at fault given the problem isn't happening on boost as such.

If I had to make a wild internet guess I would be saying this sounds suspension related rather than engine?

Only other thing would be an intake leak - run around all the pipe clamps and re-tension them, check for cracks in piping etc if you can.

Na no power loss, i'll have another drive round tonight and see if i can force it to do it.
I know there is a slight crack on the ribbed piece on the drivers side right where the clamp is so the overlap should stop it from leaking any substantial amount from there. I went through all vac lines a while back when i thought there was a leak but just turned out to be the boost gauge setup wrong.
