Yeah... wish I saw that before I broke a few clips trying to disassemble my doors... :( This would have been helpful...

I think I'm going to fab up my own tweeter enclosure sort of thing that goes on that gusset, cause I have an extra pair of JL tweeters hanging around. They're quite small so it shouldn't be too hard to make. Those tweeters were sweet sounding when they were installed in the doors, and I'd like them back.

Anyone know if that plug is in the BE GT models? I don't feel like ripping off my door panels to find out that there aren't any. If there are, I would like to get a set of the OEM tweeters and maybe replace the speaker and keep the OEM enclosure so that is still looks stock, but sounds amazing :-D

thanx

I like the idea of fabricating anything myself!!! When it comes to tweeters, I might have an idea as where to put them, in case you want to change the location a bit. Check him out, he is also from Croatia, and, believe me, does awesome work!!

Here is the link: ...damn, Cardomain is offline... I thing his name (id) is DEVA666, drives Daewoo (chevrolet lacetti) and can be found via sound system top 100. Check him out, it'll be worth searching it up.

I was thinking either the gusset, or getting a 3 pod guage thing and using the two outside for center channel and the inside one for voltage...that would look nice.

I purchased the OEM tweeter upgrade for my BE. The wire is there and installation took like 2 minutes. No need to even take the door panel off...just pop off the black pastic thing and the wiring is sitting there for you to connect up to.

just put these tweeters in yesterday, I had trouble getting them to stay in the door. The "stubs" on the tweeters wouldnt fit into the holes in the door, I ended up sanding the stubs down a little and they popped right in 1, 2, 3

I picked up a pair for my 96 and it was worth every penny. I was extra pleased when I discovered that all I had to do was plug it into an existing harness...(i didn't read any forum prior) I like building my own stuff too, but this was just way too easy. The first side I removed the door card but the other I just popped off the little black plastic door "sail" after seeing the harness is behind it. They are actually quite durable. I have an Alpine MRP-F300 (50x4rms) powering my mains and they have survived the volume levels I have put them through. It's tough to see but they do have a capacitor built in as a crossover.
