The other rims look better. Those golds and style don't look right.

this is what I am thinking too.
I am going to sell these gold rims on friday.. I am planning to get some dark bronze rims this time but I dont have any specific model in my mind right now

I have my new video card in. The rims look better than I thought, but the othes still look nicer on the car.

Not a big fan of the gold/red combo, but the darker wheels go better with the amount of black trim and what not you have.

I've always thought a set of Rota P45F's in silver on a BE would look real good.

I WOULD keep those rotas if my RE070 didnt blow off the hwy in the summer...and my rim got damaged so I sold my other 3.

Those rotas were SOO heavy though so I am looking for something lighter.

Well..these enkei rims are sold and I am going to drop them off to someone else on friday. :D

I am thinking to get the bronze 17" work XD9 or XT7 with falken 912 tires.

not too sure yet..but i think dark bronze should look good on my car

what about TE37s? :P

subaru_terrence
04-08-2008, 10:47 AM
added some pics for interior and engine bay...

PA-Outback2000: haha I guess you are the only one telling me to add a spoiler. I thought about a replica syms spoiler but all my buddies told me to stay with wingless

In terms of painting the black trims, too much work..not going to bother...

Huffer: I think I like gunmetal or dark bronze rims more on my car as well but may be I will stay with gold for half summer and see how it goes first

Spoilers - what about an M3 type lip? I really like the way your car looks. Such a good color and the black strips really break it up nicely.

subaru_terrence
04-08-2008, 01:04 PM
Where can I get that type of lip?

But it is sooo thin and doesnt make any big difference.

However, if it is cheap enough, I dont mind trying haha

Huffer
04-08-2008, 01:05 PM
it's a cosmetic addon, that I think would look pretty swish.
Ebay has tons of universal ones - just find one that is the same or longer than your trunk lid and cut to match. easy!

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2007/08/HPIM1759-1.jpg

I just bought a generic one on ebay...I forgot which length I bought, I think it was the 43" one...anyway just measure your trunk. I got my unpainted one for $20. I bought a can of matched paint and painted it myself for another $30 (adhesion promoter, paint, clear coat) - I still have the can for use to touch up dings and stuff too.

subaru_terrence
04-08-2008, 10:12 PM
nice!

My buddy measured his 07 trunk..it's somewhere near 46.5" and I measured mine..I think it is somewhere around 46" as well.

Is yours a bit too short?
$20 includes shipping!?

Airgne
04-09-2008, 12:29 AM
im telling you dont add a wing. leave it plain and spend the money on a tranny swap. still want your intake.

subaru_terrence
04-09-2008, 01:10 AM
tranny swap!? yeah right....

I might as well trading in my car for LGT or wrx

Airgne
04-09-2008, 01:15 AM
aww dont do that. do a swap. not many BE's out there with swaps in the. also if you do trade could i please get your intake. i have been asking everone on the net and looking for one since i got my BE.

subaru_terrence
04-09-2008, 01:21 AM
where are you located?

If I find one locally, I can give you a shout

the thing about a swap is the car doesnt worth much $$ after all.

I rather spend the money for a different car with a "proper" colour like white or black than a red -.-

rougeben83
04-09-2008, 01:38 AM

That leaves about 1.5" on each side. If you look at the rear end pic, the spoiler doesn't go all the way to each corner...I think it's better that way, it doesn't look so tacked on with it literally overhanging the edge. The biggest thing to a clean install is to lay the spoiler down parallel to the edge of the trunk - I sprayed rubbing alcohol on the lid before I applied the spoiler so it that I can take time to align the spoiler. Otherwise it'll be crooked. $20 shipped.

aww dont do that. do a swap. not many BE's out there with swaps in the. also if you do trade could i please get your intake. i have been asking everone on the net and looking for one since i got my BE.

you can just buy an intake made for an RS (00-01 as those are MAP like our cars). I just sold my AEM CAI to an RS guy actually.

for the lip...I dont know if I can trust myself to paint it on my own.

Also, I dont think it is worth the money to let someone else paint it for me professionally.

Airgne
04-09-2008, 02:04 AM
oh i thought you were in the states. opps. trust me your car is clean as hell without a lip. i would love to have that color car without a lip, but a gt. so if you do trade it could i get that intake. sorry for buggin you. i would love to have your car. hey for rims on your car look at the buddy club p1 racingII's they are sweet. im going to get them.

subaru_terrence
04-09-2008, 02:19 AM

$150 + shipping? It will come with a K&N filter

the rims are not bad but I think more spokes will actually look nicer on a BE

04-09-2008, 06:38 AM
for the lip...I dont know if I can trust myself to paint it on my own.

Also, I dont think it is worth the money to let someone else paint it for me professionally.

Yeah, I just did mine on a whim...it worked out. I also helped that I do a lot of painting with other stuff I do.

it's not a deal breaker, I think your car looks good as it is.

I had thin 5-spokes on my car (rota attacks)...I agree with you, a multispoke/fancier wheel design is a better fit for BE/BH's IMO...

Huffer
04-09-2008, 07:12 AM

You could leave it black. It would match the side mouldings nicely. But, it's your car - just an idea. :)

03+ Got that stock I think. I always thought it was standard on all BE's, I didn't realize the earlier ones had the regular antennas until I saw Rockgod's car a few weeks ago...

i thought about it but i dont wanna embarrass myself.

i saw some other guy's bugeye wagon's dyno number and i almost wanted to cry

it has ppp6, automagic, headers, random tech hfc, obx catback, weapon R intake, pulleys and TBS but it only put down somewhere around 125whp and 125 torque

subaru_terrence

if you are from Toronto, you can get it from budds subaru for $65 + tax i believe.

About the stock wiring part,

you can use the stock wiring...however, you have to extend the stock wiring in order to install the hella horns

Hey just wondering how much you payed for the PP6? Was it hard to tune? Did you notice a power gain?

i got it from my buddy for $250cdn.
The tune was easy and quick. I got it done in 45 min but I have to tune it again since i got headers after.

My engine no longer runs lean because of my cobb CAI, power comes smoother than before.
I think it is slightly better on high end but that just based on my butt dyno... I will probably get a dyno after my tune this summer

Love the way your car looks, everything on the car gives it a clean style. A couple questions, what color and type of brake caliper paint did you use and how well has it held up? Also do you have any issues with the o2 sensor code from having borla headers and catback exhaust? Thank you very much for the info...

subaru_terrence
06-13-2010, 06:09 PM
The caliper paint is some sort of dark gold colour. It is some jdm paint but I am out of town so I won't able to check till couple days later. It is the brush type of paint. I've had the paint for over 3 years and it been through the nasty winter but the paint is still holding well. Only few stone chips from driving but overall it's still looking good
I do have the code from the headers every once in a while when I am cruising on the hwy. Since I have a scangauge II in my car, I just clear the code quickly while driving

Your interior looks almost the same as my interior, seats and all, before I removed that 3M vinyl. Its good stuff, and looks awesome, but I had someone install it for me. Although they did a good job in the beginning it started to peel back in the places that it didn't adhere to properly because it was stretched too much when it was installed.

Not a big fan of the gold/red combo, but the darker wheels go better with the amount of black trim and what not you have.

I've always thought a set of Rota P45F's in silver on a BE would look real good.

Where did you get that grill at or what style is it by chance???...I know this one in the pic is diff than the red l7 one in your others....

One other question is how did you get your headlights so crystal clear??...iv3 been nervous to pop out the orange in mine but that looks like what you had to do...can you tell me how you did it???

subaru_terrence

wow this grille and pic were long time ago....

it is a custom grille i made by cut off everything with the stock grille, bondo, put mesh behind and badge.

look up the DIY section for the orange piece. I polish my headlights every once in a while to make them look clear

The HDR looks the best (obviously) but with me being a photographer and whatnot, I hate them. But for cars and such that seems like the popular option to go with when photographing them.

Not really feeling the lugnuts. Why aqua? And don't do mudflaps! Someone just did mudflaps on their BE on here and it looks like hell.

oh ya? what type of photographer are you?

This is my first time taking HDR shots. Personally, I dont like HDR either simply because they dont look real. However, I was just trying to prove someone else if I wanted to take HDR, I could do it too! :P Hence, I only took 1 shot.
My main focus is still doing rig shots for my clients and friends.

You dont like those blue lug nuts? When I had the black ones on, the car looked so plain with black rims and nuts. Yeah, I am not quite sure with the mudflaps either but I got these rally armor ones for free. :D May be i will only run them in the winter since I will put my car back to stock anyway.

I do weddings, senior portraits, and lifestyle photography.

Yes I agree with the fake look of HDR I honestly hate it so much and people that are ignorant to photography think they're so cool. It's ok though, all opinion on everything and I respect that.

I think it would have been better if you went with Regatta Red lugs, you can get the 18x color code paint in spray form from Subaru for cheap. Or maybe match them with the calipers? There just isn't any other blue on the car, IMO it looks really tacky.

Just my .02, love your car though!
