max torque at 2050!! that's awesome, those cams really did the trick...

rougeben83
12-19-2009, 11:27 PM
nice torque curve Airgne! From what I understand, the Dynocom dyno Maxwell uses reads a little higher than other brand's dynos, any idea what the baseline would be that dyno? I've always wondered just how much gains those delta cams would make (I know they sometimes quote % but a more specific range would be nice).

Does the cam give that much gain? I always wanted to get cam but is it really rough for DD?

Any luck getting the sound down with the bedliner?

the exhaust was custom made for my 01, but will fit 00-04 legacy sedan. you will have to do alot of reading to see what fits. alot of impreza, wrx, and newer legacy parts will work, just have to get the years right.

i still havent found the leak, so i havent put the carpet and stuff back in. i dont thin the rool on or spray on liner did andything. if it was thicker like line-x or rhino liner than i think it would work. ppl would be better off just dynomating.

If you go crazy and do the whole car, yeah, it adds up. A friend of mine did his Escape in it, and ended up adding like 60lbs to it. It was a bloated whale to begin with though.

If you aren't obsessive about weight reduction, and it's your DD, it's worth the extra weight to make it quiet IMO.

have you heard about it? worth getting for that price? or should i just buy the pipes and make it custom made (i suck at diy things tho :-( )

also i hear the cobb intake is good ?

that exhaust might work, but in 05 legacies started to have dual tips. it says 00-up, but only 00-04 sedan exhausts are the same. wagons are about 6-8in longer.

as for the cobb intake they are good if you can find them. cobb stopped making them about 4 years ago.

What are the spring rates on the JIC? I know a guy who has JIC's on his impreza and they were too stiff and bouncy that it was only suitable for track. Very horrible on interstates and in city driving.

i will look into it more. dont have the rates handy right now. these coilovers are street coilovers not track.

im use to haveing track coilovers for drifting, so the harsh doesnt bother me.

as for corner balancing i might ahve this done. i have setup enough cars with coils that i dont really need to do it. i install them test and adj as needed.

as for the 2.25 i think that it is to small. our cars hould have at least 2.5in id pipe.

JIC likes to run high rates regardless of "street" or "race" I wouldn't be surprised if its running something like 8kg or 10kg springs...Just check that the rate is lower in the back, the multi-link acts as a multiplier to the spring rate...

How do you like the JIC coilovers? I may be buying a 01 legacy soon and want to do the suspension just stuck on what route to go, I would like coilovers so I could raise the car up in the winter to go to the mountains... Can't wait to see the pics of them on the car and your ride impressions. I imagine they are a little more than the Tein Flex coilovers though...

i got the coils for 750 shipped to my front door. the ride is alittle rought, but nothing im not use to. i would keep my stock sus and swap out during winter. i would not put coils threw winter at all. to much road salt among other things.

parts that will be getting installed. all but the skidplate have been installed.

I'm just saying, lifting a wheel on an AWD car mid-corner isn't allowing you to take full advantage of the early acceleration an AWD car has post-apex...On a FWD car where the rear wheels are just along for the ride, that's ok, or even on certain RWD cars where the inside front wheel can lift mid-corner, but ideally all 4 wheels should be planted at all times if you want the fastest line.

so new things done to improve performce.

installed small rubber washer under knock sensor to combat the over active knock sensor these engines have. have noticed alot better throttle response and smoother reving.

also deleted idle air control valve. this way my car has a true cold air intake. also set own idle. yes it takes about 5 more min to warm up but oh well. no more reving to 1500-2000rpm upon start up.

installed new cv axel, re-wrapped borla header and installed primative skidplate.

grimmspeed 160 thermostat also.

well thank you. i thought that was someone that knew me. yes i was a rider at that moment. 2 days of driveing and doing rally roads as fast and sometimes faster than the rally drivers drains your energy.

saturday when i got to my station that i was working at i realised the car was to low. at my station i busted out the jack and raised my car on the rally stage.

on a side note i just found my left rear swaybar bracket broke. thank god my swaybar is so stiff it really donest matter.

Yup (well, the Blitzen doesn't). But more importantly, they all (including the 2.0L N/A RS trim and the 2.5L N/A RS25 trim) come with a "B4" badge on them (except the Blitzen).

Well, it's got low miles, right? That's a plus for buyers. Also, as @Dead91silvia (https://sl-i.net/FORUM/member.php?u=2037) has pointed out to me time and time again, cars sell for more in the PNW. Somebody there would be best suited to answer that question.
Also, I recommend calling it a BE9. Otherwise people may think you're talking about a Japanese car.

Dead91silvia
09-29-2015, 10:50 PM

As for what your car is worth... It's all relative. If it's lower miles, $6-7k would be about right, give or take. ;)

Airgne
09-30-2015, 06:20 AM
well since the since the chassis code says BE5 it is a BE5. as for the mileage its right around 120k i think. cant really remember since the gauge cluster was changed out. its only had about 500 miles put on it in the last five years. it has three issues with it that are known, but easy to fix. 1 dent in gas tank 2 flapper in filler neck is broke so it takes a little longer to fillup 3 no a/c. its going to get sold. i dont need it anymore and the wife hates it. just when to sell it is the question. this is the car im looking to get. http://kakaku.com/kuruma/used/item/10773504/

Wow I washed it three different times and clay bar the car. It still needs help. Damn it's going to be a minute before I get the paint back up to par.

Well after sitting for six years the clutch release bearing is jacked. Just ordered the snout repair kit for it. I could remember if my transmission was from a turbo outback or not so I ordered both. Now just to get the pilot bearing and a place to do the work. No tools sucks.

I haven't had a cruise around Mt. Rainier with Brandon in like 6-7 years. That'd be a good time! Let's do it before it starts getting really cold out

So my car is fucked? $1000 to get the clutch and fluids done. Another $500 for a clutch kit. Swaybar brackets are breaking away from the subframe. Oil leak from the rack and pinion.
Got to love it. Maybe I should have sold it. Hahaha.
I will repair all of this just need the time. Wish I had a shop of my own to do it all.

So got almost everything fixed. As soon as everything is fixed it will be going up for sale along with all the extra parts I have for it. Need some cash for down payment on a new Subaru.

Well the scoobie did good. Made it to southern California with no issues! Damn I remember why I like this car so much. Took the 101 down Washington, Oregon until San Francisco. Did amazing but the coilovers need a better spring rate. Shit was rough at times.

So 3,189 mile round trip. Car did great. Blew a coilover since California freeway's are SHITE! Glad I have and extra set of suspension. If I get a new Subaru this car is getting stripped and made into a track car.
Drove the Crosstrek today. Damn I like it!

Clean build! Do you have to drill holes in the rear bumper to mount the spats?

Not sure. I had a body shop do it since they had to paint and shave some of the foam under the bumper for it to fit correctly.
