I'm not surprised to see zero topics in this area of the forum. Is there nobody on the board with a swap? Even a head swap? I would think with all the compatable parts between the EJ22 and the EJ25 we would have at least one hybrid motor on SLI (correct me if I'm wrong). I looked into swapping in EJ25 SOHC heads on my EJ22 but I'm trying to buy a new car so no more mods for my BD. I've heard an EJ25 short block in an EJ22 makes for some good fun. Or maybe an EJ25 crank in an EJ22?

There used to be quite a few topics in this section before the database got wiped. The boards only been going for a week or two...

True, there were some great threads in the old forum, but anymore it seems that there are more people worried about what air-intake to buy instead how to make some real horsepower.

Well, we can talk about my swap:

http://www.jeyping.dynip.com/legacy2.jpg

Hybrid motor it is:
- EJ257 (STi) shortblock
- EJ25 heads and intake manifold
- WRX turbo
- WRX intercooler
- WRX exhaust

Makes for great turbo fun!

It's got tons more horsepower than the EJ22 that it replaces - it'll go on a dyno this month and then we'll know how much for sure :)

Mid july, early august I should be tossing some kind of EJ20t motor into my BD. A local shop called The Speed Factor should be doing it for me for just about nothing, just for me to be the "Speed Factor Legacy" I guess, dont have all the details yet. However, I am gonna try and be there for most of it and take a thousand pictures, so I can post a general "how to swap a WRX engine into your legacy" thread.

I'll be joining the club soon too. In fact I have a JDM 6MT on the way as I type. :-D

Already have the 91 Legacy LSD 3.9 rear diff. and turbo crossmember. and the 6MT knob....yes, the list goes on.

no, no engine yet. Soon enough though.

When I finally get the cash together and source an engine I can get my hands on an legacy turbo EJ22t(g) for about 350 bucks for the full swap, I'm going to clean it out, hopefully get my hands on an upgraded set of internals, pulleys, a USDM or JDM STI intake manifold and TB. Once I get it all in, I'm going to bring it to this place Hass Tuning in Southington, CT, the place is pretty badass, soon to be top competition for turboxs and other systems, and for about $2k will get myself a turbo, TMIC or FMIC and all custom piping/exhaust all controlled by E-manage, and will get it tuned up to a nice comfortable 350whp easily (or so they tell me...these guys are nuts!), unless I want them to crank it. You should see the stuff they build...only company in the world right now that makes a turbo kit for the new MR-2's, but they are an equal opportunity hot-rod shop, and were pretty psyched about my stock EJ25 let alone possibly putting in an EJ22G. Hopefully this summer my car will be getting a little long-needed pep under the hood. This site is full of techies, there were quite a few swappers on the old board, its good to see some of them back in action now.

say whaaaat? haha nice try. the 22g is from the 22B... unless you parted a 22b out you dont have a 22b shortblock. i think you meant the leg turbo one. there is no letter code but people usually just say EJ22T.
