Ditto I was looking to do black carpet too. Mines not too bad, but has stains. Black would hide those for sure! Looks good!

Give us an update or DIY in a few days/weeks so we can see how well the dye is sticking to the original carpet. Looks like a GREAT idea. :)

Hey guys the stuff i got was from a auto parts store in my home town its made by Dupli-color Its called vinyl and fabric coating. I used 3 and a half cans at 3.99 each so total cost for this mod 16 dollars. If u do it i would recommend pulling ur interior out. I would do this because it smells like spray paint. I painted mine and let it sit for three days so the smell almost goes away. Also recommend shampooing the carpet before and letting dry. As for how long it will last i think a long time im going to put black STI floor mats in it on friday so im not worried and the color coming off. I really happy with how it came out it looks really good in person to.
Heres a pic of the can.

no problem, not in any hurry at all. I'm working on designing a Hybrid Bus for a school project and have proposed a design with using an NA subaru engine in a series hybrid system. Using the stock X-member allows use to keep the stock mounts and simplifies the design greatly. Let me know when your swap is underway. good luck!

WENTWORTH! thats what it is. haha. i for the life of me could not remember that. i pulled my interior out yesterday. i'm excited to do the dye. you said it took three and a half cans? i had to go to like four places to find it in stock. :smt013 do you think you could put up a picture of what it looks like in the places its wearing down? and does the carpet keep its texture or does it get all shitty and crusty? i have heard of that happening on some fabrics

No im running 225 45 r 17s it depends on the type of tire and tread pattern to be honest some will clear by like a visa card and some need spacers in the rear mine just fit
whats your wheel offset...

Haha Just wait tell my swaps done then you guys can really enjoy. Ive gone away from the small build i started. The build is ending up being more complex Ive going foreged internals, Head studs, ACL race bearings everything so when ever i want i can put a bigger turbo on pump the boost up and put done like 475whp. But for now im only going to put a 18g on it and tune it on E 85. IM going with the 18g because i just want a fast street car for now that will spool fast. im hoping with the 18g for around 365 to 380 whp.

Yes i will most likely be returning it back to stock besides the jdm fogs because u have to cut the bumper and the car would look really bad without them and have two big holes. Unless someone has a red bumper willing to change. lol
