Some time in August I was cruising NASIOC's classifieds and found a FREE 92' T-leg. The deal was anyone who came and got it could have it, the guy just wanted the 22t short block, and $400 for the tranny (freshly rebuilt). Well, I left Duluth MN, and 18hrs and 1000miles later I had a T-leg in my driveway. Instead of pulling the motor down there, I just swapped him for a 22t I had laying around.

The car wasn't extremly pretty, but the price was right, and the shell is about 97% rust free. Here's what she looked like when I got her home tucked into the garage next to the GT-T:

Well I started the tear down and after we got the motor out, I was really happy to find out that the "freshly rebuild tranny" was all messed up. Somehow, when it was put back together, they didn't put the big front diff bearing retainer in, so basically the diff was flopping around in there, which destroyed the cap-thingy...great

So that meant I had to pull the tranny, and deal with that issue too.

The original plan was to "just" do a stock rebuild to the ej22t, figure out the tranny (or replace it) and get the car on the road...Well, I ended up needing 1more usable stock piston than I had, and I was running out of time if I was going to get this thing going by January for the MNsubaru Iceraces. It was at this point that I said screw it, and decided to "borrow" the short block I had bought for the 2.2GT-T. It had new bearings, STi Rods, and wiesco's. Here's the stack of 22t's I had in the house during this project haha:

Well, I had a buddy put the bottom end together, and I assembled the rest at his shop. We also ended up being able to fix the F++ked up tranny down at his shop too. I got the motor back Wednesday, it was in the car Friday, and running on Saturday. After some small stuff sunday (New IAC and TPS installed) I just had to bleed the brakes, and install the "new" front clip off my part's car. I did both of those things at 5am Monday morning before driving to work...

Well, between Monday morning and Friday afternoon, I put 800 miles on the car, fixed a million small things, mounted/wired my hellas, and packed for the ice races. Success!!!

I have a TMIC, TD04, 3'' TBE, and a few other odds and ends to go on the car in a little while...but for now, I'm jsut very content to have a car I can count on again (knock on wood). She's not pretty, but I love her. Stay tuned, there's more to come...

I'll be doing it again in February. There are much, MUCH nicer car's than mine that go up there and get destroyed on the ice haha

Imo, you should install the second scoop right where it is in that picture. Double hood scoop would be sick. :smt023

Max - your cousin picked up the engine today. Hopefully it all works out for you. BTW, you owe him a large stack of beers.

Well, the stock turbo turned @ 12psi has been feeling slow for the last few weeks, so I figured it was time for more upgrades to make the car feel faster to me. Today I put on the TMIC and TD04. It's kinda a bitch to get all the million hoses and everything in there right and all hooked up, but after arguing with it for a few hours, it's done. The TD04 Spools much faster than the VF11 and Actaully holds boost instead of tapering off past 4kish like the Stock one. It also completely changed the sound of the car, it sounds crazy now.

Pics: (don't pay any attention to the ugly dirty engine bay, and I still need to Paint my charge pipe and Suitcase-delete pipe)

This setup should keep me ammused for a little while, then the next round of Mods should include a DOHC head swap, some 440cc injectors, a tuned ECU chip, and 17-18psi :)

What about the Link?

I'm kinda waiting to see how this revtorinix thing pans out. If i can tune it for a few hundred $$$ I can use my link on something else. Either way, even if the revtoronix thing isn't all it's cracked up to be, I wouldn't want to go full standalone until if/when I put a 6mt in it.... Although, the fact that I have 800cc injectors in the mani that goes with the DOHCs might change my mind. I mean, I COULD swap them out...or I could go standalone and throw a 20g on there and baby my tranny...haha

there will be a lot more pictures of this thing soon. Hopefully in the next week or 2 it'll be getting parked and torn back apart for paint, my 2.5Dohc install, ABS delete, Standalone installation, and a full interior swap to the Black 93/94 interior.
