Opening headlights

Anybody know how to bake and crack open a bg5 headlight? Tried to restore my headlights but looks like the yellowish color is inside the lens.

Pretty good info in this thread. I preheat my oven to 225 and bake the lights for 15 min. Make sure you take out all the screws and clips prior to baking.

You can also do it with a heat gun, but its much more work. I got a set of plastic trim panel spudgers from HF for 5 bucks that I use just for lights.

Also, put the lights on some foil or something. I melted my first set of headlights a bit because I put them directly on the metal rack. The result was sadness.

That sounds like something I would have down. Thanks for the heads up on that.

I doubt the yellowness is on the inside. That being said, bake away, it's a fun project.

What process did you use to restore the headlights?
