BH9 Gauge Cluster Air Temp Gauge Question

Before I start taking stuff apart, does anyone know if all BH9s are wired to use the outside air temp readout that some models had in the digital readout in the tach with the clock? The 2000 BH9 5MT I have has only the clock, no temp. The 2001 BH9 4EAT I parted out has the temp. gauge and clock. Both base model cars with cold weather package.

If not wired, how can I hook this thing up? There should be a sensor somewhere then?

I dont have a fsm or wiring diagrams for this car yet and dont want to pull off the web as I only have my phone for web connection. Thanks!

The 2000 does not have it wired, in fact, I do not think it even has the sensor. All 2001-2004 cars have the sensor and the display. H4 cars have the display in the cluster, H6 cars have the display in the HVAC controls.

Hmmm thanks. I just plugged the cluster in for the heck of it, reads ---°F. Anyone have the diagrams for the sensor location and the wiring, I should have all that stuff still around here somewhere.

The sensor is behind the front bumper, I think attached to the center radiator support. As for wiring, it is really simple.. One wire goes to ground, the other goes to the temperature display.

You can find all of the details in the FSM, for which there are links on this forum, or if you are in a pinch are on http://jdmfsm.info
