Okay, so mark my words here and now...... I will have this car at the SLi meet on April 4th. It won't take much to get it there, but the temps need to go up before I can continue working on it.

Okay, okay... I know I totally failed on that account.
I hate working on this thing alone. You've seen how much trouble I can get into if I am left to work on things by myself. I break LOTS of stuff and it becomes a bigger project than it ever needed to be.

Well, now thanks to you and your "always keep improving" thing, I want to change the steering rack too. Other things needed:

1) new cowl for front windshield
2) wire up the cruise control button on steering wheel
3) re-do the wiring for the headlight levelers
4) replace the Japanese fenders with North American ones (still missing a passenger side)
5) find and install side skirts
6) put front end back together
7) replace oil pan gaskets, fix other oil leaks, get alignment, replace rear diff bushings, change tires (all of these will be done at IAG)
8) restore the leather seats
9) repaint body (I'm giving up on this one)

If you aren't too picky about paint, you can take it to Maaco for a few hundred dollars. I can find out which one painted a friend of @Rubie_25GT and mine's Legend. It turned out well for the cost.

So the H6 is at IAG and getting everything sorted out mechanically (which is really just taking care of leaks and the alignment), then it is off to the body shop for a paint re-do. I expect the H6 to hit the streets within a couple months.
However, I'm back to the "what color do I want" question. I don't want to keep the dark purple/blue, but I don't know what to change it to.

I've always been a fan of silver but Id say be different and mimic the silver off of a 4th gen spec B

There already are many Legacys/Outbacks with that color. It's called "Timberline Green Pearl".

I know. But I still haven't decided between keeping the H6 or the FXT. One of them has to go, and I will finish the restoration/maintenance on the other. I just keep going back and forth though.

I think it would be harder to sell the H6. With all the parts you added/removed I think the average buyer would not want it. With that being said, someone who knows Legacys would love it. But the FXT is more practical when you need to haul some stuff. Tough choice there.

Either one I sell will be for the same amount, so I'm not trying to match mods to the amount I would ask. But it's actually more complicated than that. There's very little left to do on the H6, but it's expensive work (body/paint). The FXT has a lot of little irritations and some routine maintenance items, along with needing a proper tune after installing a bigger turbo and catless uppipe. All of that adds up too.

So semi-related to the H6, I have bought something from Japan and it's being slow-boat shipped here. It's expected to be here early February. Three people know about it (I suck at keeping secrets), and even thought it's kind of obvious what it is, I still want to see if I can surprise folks with it. I would like to have everything ready for the '16 Spring Maryland meet.

Indeed, I now have both. I am going to finish up the Blitzen at some point soon since I am pretty much done working on my RS30.

This car really deserves a better home than mine. As rkrenicki realized, it has only been driven about 30k miles in the four years that I've had it. I just haven't had the time, ability, or patience to do what needs to be done.

Plus, it gives rkrenicki the chance to develop his body work skills!
