I wouldn't consider getting stuck with the halogen lamps a bad thing though, HID's are way overhyped! To the point if I ever owned a 4th gen I'd fit halogen lenses![]()

Another thing I just starting wondering is what brakes came on the JDM Outback 3.0Rs. USDM like @geckoboy86's got the same brakes as the 2.5i.

Which is stupid. The 3rd gens H6s had bigger rear brake (which is what I plan on putting on my car). My Outback is soo unbalanced under braking. Extra weight up front should have been balance out with something better in the rear. My mother identical (but 2.5i) Outback Sedan can out corner my car with ease.
JDM BP outback 3.0 has the venerable 294mm brakes. 3.0R legacy has the big GT 316mm or something like that rotors.
Seriously. Never liked em, and after working in a parts store, I can tell you I've replaced more HID's than I have H1's. Beast is still on his factory fitted H1/H3 combo, and my 95 250T still had 3 original bulbs in it when I uograded to some nice "plus 120's", because they were quite yellow and only putting out like an H4. Not bad after 21years/230,000k's. H4's are another story, they are crap. Projectors or bust!
My BC has a similar setup, 260mm Front 266mm rear... It's hilarious when trail braking, really gets the arse to come around, quite un nerving! Subaru's done this to a lot of cars from factory, BG5A TS-R's had 260mm front rotors, and 266mm rears factory for example!
Don't forget even with larger rear rotors, bias is still to the front, just not as much as we might desire though í ½í¸œ

Each to their own I guess. One wants a bulb to last for 20 years, another one wants a better performance. Not that I had to replace anything due to a fault and doubt I will. BH5 had stock bulbs in it, so did BLE when I upgraded the bulbs for Osrams.
The little one got his own Recaro
Just need to wait a few more months until he's big enough for it.
A few things happened today:
- K2Gear Meister Spec-Neo Dual mid section is installed. I reckon now I'm done with the exhaust (apart from an occasional mufflers swap when I get bored), K2Gear was my ultimate goal: 3.0 specific mid section straight bolt-on without any need for modifications, modest pipe diameters, good oval resonator, good sound, awesome look
- Finally got a chance to wash and polish/wax her after all the rain we'd had lately.
- Took some photos of the car and the things I need to sell (Kakimoto Regu.06&R mufflers with Ti tips, Trust mufflers, Valenty full LED tail lights etc)
Car is looking great. I would like to see pics of the LED tail lights.

Thanks! The LED lights are for a wagon, don't think Valenti or any other brand ever made anything for a sedan :/.
Ended up with four sets of rims: Prodrive, O.Z., Work Emotion x2. Decision time...
You could donate a set to me. But seriously, pics of said Works please. I really considered some XT7s and 11Rs before I ended up getting the STI BBS's.

Looking clean man!
Made a decision to part with one set of the WORKs - CR Kai 18x7.5 ET35. Mainly due to the offset, +35 would definitely involve some guard massaging etc which I am not a fan of.
Pics of the set
Two questions for you on these. I know somewhere you said this is the right part number for the type d-f with self leveling headlights. USDM cars didn't get the self leveling headlights, so I was wondering if the parts listed for the type a-c would work on our d-f cars? The reason I ask is I found a set with aluminium front lower control arms (which was also left off USDM 3.0Rs) for about $310 USD including shipping.
Second, how much a difference do you think these make?

I have another question for you good sir. When the stock air box at the top of the throttle body cracked on your car did you get any noticeable stumbling or anything? If I am cruising at low rpm and give it a little gas the car seems to stumble at first. Its mostly noticeable in Intelligent and gets better in Sport and S#. I have no CEL yet. I really need to take the engine cover off and look.

Sorry took me a while. The arms are the same between pre-facelift and facelift, the only difference is that one of the facelift arms has a mounting point for a headlight leveler. The same applies to the front LCA.
Hard to say how much difference they made as they were installed with the Cusco bits. At the very least the bushes were much younger, than factory 100k km ones they replaced.
Heard/read the same info somewhere, they do look very similar.
Wasn't anything as bad really but the crack itself was just starting to develop. Doesn't take long to check![]()
Thanks for the info sir. I did look at the air box and it seems fine.

Damn that's pricey - they better have veeeery low mileage on them at that price (judging by NZ standards í ½í¸Š)
Its a fair price here since its more performance oriented than anything that came on the Legacy Spec B here.

You've gone 5th gen? Still bummed I was so rushed when we went through Auckland last week, would have been nice to meet up.

Dammit I forgot you were coming. Have had a crazy week (or two), still cannot bounce back :/
Growing family demanded something bigger (or it was just an excuse). Still have both but the 3.0R is 90% back to stock, just need to remove a few things. Spent whole Sunday taking suspension mods and brakes out and replacing with stock parts.
Awwww....I'm gonna miss your 3.0R. Is the 5th gen a GT or 3.6R?

Ohhhh, right. You lucky people outside the American market got 5th-gen Legacy wagons. Color me green with envy.
