It took me 8 months, but I *finally* replaced the front fender that was damaged last October. It took me a while to find one in the correct color in a somewhat close proximity. I also decided to upgrade the headlight assemblies to those from a 3.6l model which are HID, since I had to take apart most of the nose anyways to replace the fender.
The old headlight assemblies were getting to be quite yellowed, and this car was the last one without some sort of headlight upgrade. I ended up finding a "like new" passenger side assembly on eBay for cheap, and I bought a brand new drivers side from one of the discount online dealers. It was a bit spendy, but I am very happy with the improvement in illumination.
My wife also mentioned that after it rains, she finds water in the trunk. When I ordered the headlight, I also ordered a set of tail light gaskets and the weather stripping for the trunk, figuring that I would just replace them all at once. It is a good thing I bought them all, as a previous body shop "repair" neglected to put 3 of the 4 gaskets back in, and even forgot to put two of the nuts back in for the center garnish. I replaced all of the gaskets, installed the 2 missing nuts, and I am sure that it is going to be watertight now.
Lastly, I also ordered new run channels for the front windows, as the passenger side has been giving us headaches with the auto closing function detecting too much drag. These are far more of a headache to install than I originally expected, but I did manage to get the passenger side replaced before I called it for the day. I do have some of the optional Rockford Fosgate front speakers on the way for this car, so I will do the drivers side run channel once those arrive to only have to remove the door card once, at least on the drivers side.
