I've thought so many times about dying my interior. That's awesome that it turned out fine. I always had that thought that it might be totally fucked looking. Haha. Then again, I was planning on doing my roof lining, seats, carpets, etc... Just get it all outta the way. *shrugs* I suppose I still might if I become so inclined. I'd have to find a super fun color though. :)

Pink!! Yea I am thinking about doing my headliner and stuff, but for that kind of material and the trouble to brush it on it might sit in a dye bath.

Looks pretty good! A dye bath would definitely be the way to go... I have an old above-ground pool that I was thinking about using for all of it. About 1,000 gallons of water, 50 bottles of Ryt (or however it's spelled) and just let 'em sit in there for a few hours just like clothing. Afterward, hose it down, do it all again, scotchguard and re-install. Pink, however, doesn't really fit my style, I don't think. I could be wrong though  !

Why were there 3 cats on there? Who did your exhaust before? There should only be 2 cats and two resonators from the factory. The resonators you can get rid of for sure but I believe it is "illegal" to remove either of the cats (must have at least 2). Where'd the 3rd cat come from? :)
httrdd
06-02-2011, 10:13 PM
The svx has two pre cats on the header stock which come into a 2-1 cat. The 99 LGT only has two cats required. I am removing the third cat which is also the biggest cat. Should be much louder.

Gotta wait 25 year for that here. Once your vehicle is 25+ years old, it's considered a "classic" and therefore no more emissions (in most states). We'll see how long this lasts...

My theme was either going to be black/red or black/gold. I think since finding a good gold was a pia I gave up and went red. The outside lip is so thin that I am going to do it with a paint marker. Mark it off first. I just have to roll the fender first about a 1/4".

[QUOTE=1986nate;681661]exactly what it states. This is one of the old Stage 3 intakes that LAN made.
A variety of Whipple/Lysholm superchargers will bolt to it, but I believe only the smallest one will actually fit properly. 100ax or 1600ax depending on who you would order from.
Not sure if anyone is interested in a supercharged SVX, but this would save a lot of time and effort if someone were going to. I also have the alternator relocation bracket if you wanted to retain a/c.
Having an LGT I can fit larger superchargers then they have tried before. Of coarse I will fit the largest one I can with built engine internals to pull more boost! ;)

Ok updates!
Intake manifold, bracket, and some sore to pulley are here for the supercbarger build. :) spent the entire afternoon cutting out the rust and preping for welds. Cut pieces of 22gauge metal and began welding. Need to finish other side which is not that bad and then Bondo, sand, primer, then paint.

It shut down at a garage parking lot. I got it going again and made it a little ways from my house before final shut down. I spoketo dave and then realized I never put more gas in the other day. Ok project mesh "Tall" grill has commenced. Here is what I have so far......
Took a grill that was given to me and started modifing. Have not seen a good DIY for this so I will put one up.
BE CAREFUL THIS IS ONLY PLASTIC!!
First took the black cover on the rear that holds the symbol off. I actually just snapped the circular clips off. Then I took a sawzall and hack saw and cut the middle away.
http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo185/httrdd/670490745_photobucket_64558_.jpg
Take a pair of dikes and clip the left over center pieces about an inch from the frame. Dont cut too deep since the next step is going to be to file off the excess.
http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo185/httrdd/670490745_photobucket_64559_.jpg
File down level with the rest of the frame.
I will update this as I do more today.

Hey you might want to hit the rotors real quick with some anti-rust paint - the hat (raised) part and the outside vanes on the rotor - the non-braking/clamping parts of the rotor. It'll help keep them rust free and looking much nicer for longer. I did it to mine real quick after spraying them with brake cleaner, masked up the rotor and laid down a couple of quick coats. LIGHT overspray isn't a problem as the first time you brake your pads will wipe off the paint residue.

With something like that, try painting from left to right, rather than front to back. I hope that makes sense. You will have fewer strokes, thereby wasting less paint. Also, try to get the nozzle as close to level with the surface as you can, and overlap the strokes a little more.

Ok hood was sanded down and rattle canned flat black.. No offense to you geckoboy, but i could not stand the paint job anymore. Spoiler is installed and looks great, but there is a gap on the outside. Not enough to get me to remove it though. I will post pics tomorrow. Good night.

It's ok. I needed the hood on ASAP after my deer accident so didn't have a lot of time to make it great.

Hmmm. I like the looks of that wing now. I want a bigger spoiler on my Subie and more so one that is easier to clean the under half. Now why that isn't as big as I'd like, it's an option. And cool thing is I already found one.

Lookin' good! Hood looks MUCH better black on your car. How do you plan on fixing the gap on the rear wing? Rubber gaskets could work well, I suppose. Cheap and easy!

eekay- Yea not sure how I am going to get rid of that gap. Looking to see what I have here at work to fix it.
geckoboy86- It is a lot of work. You have to line up where you want it, drill holes, step out another hole on the inside big enough so you can get a socket on it for the nut, cut a hole in the right bottom of the spoiler and fish the wire through if you want a brake light, and fix the 1/8" gap on the outside. I like a challenge though.

Sorry, but I think it's too narrow. Maybe I'll like it better when I see it?
To get rid the outside gap can you grind away some of the material on the inside?
httrdd
12-01-2011, 05:56 PM
Its only a half inch difference than the LGT spoiler. Looks way better in person. For the gap I was thinking of grinding away I just dont want to ruin it. I dunno. Was not expecting this.

12-01-2011, 06:52 PM
If you end up grinding/sanding away. Just be very, VERY careful. Remove too much and you're b0rk3d...

I dont want to fix the gaps. Too much work and i really like it wingless. I took wingless pics a while ago and kept telling myself. "If i did not buy this rs spoiler i would go wingless." A few extra holes to patch later and wammmo wingless.
These arrived today. Going to mount then in the hvac blower after all. Got them hella cheap new. Let me know if you guys need any.

I am picking up 2.5rs black cloth seats tomorrow for 50 bucks! "Subaru" is in the headrests. Only 60,000 miles.
Sold the rs wing too.

They look like a special edition, as you don't see many at all with that subaru symbol.

I approve of the CAI. However, don't use the couplers that the OP used. They aren't air-tight and they strip/break SUPER easily. Use the rubber couplers. :)

Yea that is what I figured you were saying. I wonder if they make pieces long enough? I may just have to have 2 couplers and a piece that sits in the middle.
grayguy
12-06-2011, 10:19 PM
Please tell me you welded those trunk holes up and didn't just bond over them?
eekay
12-06-2011, 10:22 PM
I'm sure you can find longer pieces with that bend degree. Shouldn't be too tough. If not, use two couplers and the middle piece just like the OP. I just don't trust those plastic couplers. They're a nuisance! :)
httrdd
12-07-2011, 08:23 AM
Ummm no I just bondoed over them for now. Bad idea I am guessing? I may just weld thenm tonight then.
grayguy
12-07-2011, 03:23 PM
Yes, weld them. Else they will crack out eventually. I made similar mistakes to my car in high school when I shaved the side molding, moisture gets behind them from the back side too and cracks them to shit, where as the shaved trunk that I welded the holes on is still holding up 8 abusive years later.
grayguy
12-07-2011, 03:25 PM
It's tricky to do, but if you can get a small backing plate up behind the holes from the inside it makes it a lot easier to do with out burning through the thin sheet metal.
eekay
12-07-2011, 03:53 PM
+1
I would definitely weld them. Just keep that welder on SUPER low. :)
httrdd
12-07-2011, 04:24 PM
Damn i should of though about that the other day. They are getting bondo for now just so i can get to work on something else. Will weld before i repaint the car down the road.

Anyone know if these are special edition seats?
Not a special edition, just someone had that stitched into the headrests. I think these seats were actually in the same storage unit as my leather rs seats when I bought them. Im sure they have had time to change hands since then
