Looks fantastic with the JDM tail lights, and I think the wheels match the two tone paint well. I'd just replace the "i" badge with an "L7" and clear the corner light and it'll be perfect.

EDIT: Did you call that badge an L7? Becuase that's the Impreza "i" badge, the Legacy "L7" badge looks like this:

they are much nicer in Europe mainly do to a manual 5 speed and high efficiency diesel options. We get a 4 speed auto and no manual option and I don't think we get diesel.

it's low enough to fit most places with ease but still gives you a lot of practicality also available a a 2 or 5 seater.

It's really begging for an sti swap for ultra stealth.

Tried to change my knock sensor but I am having trouble finding and getting to it. If the below is correct then I have found it but I can't get a clear look. also I don't have to tools to reach it without removing alot of stuff to get to it with the limited tools I have.

"In a little bit more detailed/general description of location: Find the cold air intake for your engine (a big black tube that enters the engine on the side of the vehicle that carries people). Go to the right and follow the top of the engine until you get to the starter cables (the ones that pull when you turn your key in the ignition). The knock sensor is inbetween these two objects from left to right, and is just towards the cabin of a big metal swoopy object known as the intake manifold. Deep down in this crevice (you probably need about 9 inches of extension on socket wrench with a 12mm socket) there is a solitary bolt that holds in the knock sensor. The sensor itself should be black on the top and have a single cable protruding from it with a white connector on the end that attaches to a grey connector."

And I Removed parking stickers from the po

I love 'em! They are great for all weather and decent performance. Not a race tire, but you cant beat the price! All the ones I have are the HRI's, but I have heard great things about the ZRI's on the track! I have a set thats close to the same on my GT now and they lasted 3 years with my driving and 65K miles. Today I redlined in first and continued putting power down in second to merge into some tough traffic today. I couldn't imagine wanting much more power than the 2.2L, good shift technique counts for a lot. I think I'm a humble 200hp max kind of personality.

Holy crap, I should pick up that EG33 for the 96 SVX just because of the deal of it. Nothing like having a spare lying around in great shape like that. Or build it up to handle a supercharger and still have a motor in the car. That thing is clean.

My friend bought a Ground Control kit that lets you use their height adjustable springs with standard KYB GR-2s. I'll let you guys know how it fits, since it's intended for the GC Impreza of course. He's also getting camber bolts and steering rack bushings. Fun, so long as we don't break any steering rack mounting bolts.
Installed the steering rack bushings two nights ago. It was a pain and took forever, but at least I didn't break anything this time. Best mod for the money, but just go slow getting the bolts out, they rust a lot. I had to go back and forth a few times with each one, using a lot of penetrating lubricant.

Last night, we did the Ground Control height adjustable spring kit and put in the camber bolts. Went well, the car handles, and the car is dropped hysterically low. At least that what I thought after three cocktails, which I'm getting good at making.

Bushwacker:
1/2 oz. coffee liqueur (Kahlua)
1/2 oz. amaretto
1/2 oz. light rum
1/2 oz. Irish cream liqueur
2 oz. light cream
in that order into an iced filled glass. I prefer to stir. I made mine a double last night.

Then I was going to make a gin and tonic but poured the gin and couldn't find any tonic. I found some birch beer in the fridge and used that and it was amazing! Tasted like wintergreen.

DRINK RESPONSIBLY. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. SHUT UP, I WASN'T DRIVING, MY FRIEND WAS. OH, AND DON'T LIKE, DRINK TOO MUCH, THEN LOOSE A FINGER TO AN ANGLE GRINDER.

Clean it real good with chemical (you already knew that)

sand it with 180 grit

Wipe again with same chemical

dust it with primer- let sit for an hour or so

scuff it lightly

dust it again with another light coat of primer- throw it in oven for 15 minutes.

Remove and Let sit for at least 3 hours.

lightly wetsand with 400

Dust your 1st coat

Lay the 2nd coat dry

3rd and last coat should be the fill-in coats.

Any confusion, pm me Huff.

Pulled the console, dash, and dash support yesterday and rewired a few things on my MT wiring harness today (fog lights on with parking, not headlights, and a few small adjustments) so it is all ready to be installed into the car in place of the AT harness.

Removed the MT from the engine to clean the huge nest out of the bellhousing this week also and cleaned up the MT and then bolted it back on after regreasing the bearing and fork.

To do: Replace passengerside inner and outer timing cover on the motor going in and clean up the nut shells on the top of it. Swap wiring harnesses and then reinstall interior. Swap rear diff from 4.44 unit to 4.11 LSD. Pull motor and AT and drop in motor and MT.

I used this 3m Headlight Restoration Kit (http://www.amazon.com/3M-Headlight-Lens-Restoration-System/dp/B001AIZ5HY). Worked pretty well, used a cordless drill. I didn't spend too much time on them, I was just getting the cloudiness out.

Haha yeah it came in a little bit ago, for free of course.

About the power steering:
I got mine through the garage so I'm not too sure. Make sure everything is tightened down and the fluids are up to the line. Leave the cap off of the fluid container. Turn the car on and turn the steering wheel left and right a few times then look into the container. If there are tiny air bubbles coming up, then air is getting into the fluid from somewhere.

When I got my new engine I didn't tighten everything down and the power steering SCREAMED for a while haha it was so annoying.

It's most definitely the pump, damn it's annoying close up. I just tried that, didn't seem to notice the fluid moving much, and no bubbles. It seems loudest at idle. I wonder how long it'll last. There's a junk yard 16 miles away that has one for $40, but I don't feel like the trip right now, my mom's van needs brakes and today's my day off. PITA.

Looks like I wont have it up and running after swapping the engine and tranny in this weekend. Thats ok, it will give me a little more time after finishing the mechanical to tie up all the little ends, like installing the new inner tie rod end and the noltec rear adjustable lateral links. Maybe I'll even get the whiteline endlinks and wrx 20mm rear swaybar in. This thing will be like a whole new car after all this.

a SUS 18mm rsb, So right now i back to the stock size difference 5mm front to back
stock 18mm front 13mm rear
Now ~23mm front 18mm rear

the doesn't seem to under steer as bad as it did when it was stock...

and corners are sooo flat, it has raised the limits for taking corners for sure

So he tribeca sway bar is the same measurement with the same bends as a legacy? That's awesome!! I was thinking of going from my legacy to an outback, i think a difference of 3 MM each front and rear, but that (.beca) sounds way beefier...

that's cool beta!

Got it running and driving today, only a couple small problems to deal with.

1. both bolts for the washer bottle are snapped. Simple drill and retap to fix.

2. abs is all sorts of not working heh. Not a problem for me, drove 13 years without abs till I got this car, just need to figure out what wire to use to make the light go away (simple look though the wiring diagrams).

3. fuel gauge isn't working. should be simple wiring job, but I think the problem is using a wiring harness from the 97 (which is a 96 build) in the 98. I just need to figure out which wires in the rear harness need to be connected for the fuel sender.

Once things are all set I'll get a post up about the swap. I took plenty of pictures.

Yep! Told the seller about sl-i too, hes riding on 18x7.5 wheels w/ 235/45 tires. Gave him some tips about debadging. Hopefully he'll sign up.

Thanks! Just came back from my first drive with it. IF YOU HAVE A WAGON AND DON'T HAVE A REAR STRUT BRACE, GET ONE. So much more predictable and responsive in corners; chassis rigidity is GOD.

Did so much today!

I bought and replaced my steering u-joint
Siphoned out some oil (overfull)
Welded a newly broken exhaust bracket
Replaced a hose clamp to the heater core
Painted the notched ends of my Cusco lower control arm brace (needed modification to fit a Legacy)
Got home from work and readjusted the steering u-joint so my wheel was centered
Changed the rear diff fluid (getting those damn plugs out, what a pain! Fluid was black.)
Tapped the holes for the Cusco brace and installed it

Why BBCode no worky?
